How does data enrichment work?

With our Business add-on, we offer a way to enrich data based on respondents' email addresses. This is best suited for B2B contacts. In order to enrich data, your form must have a unique email field.

Automatic data enrichment only works for new responses collected after enabling this feature. If you have a form with existing responses, you can manually trigger the data to be enriched by clicking the profile icon in the responses list. The icon will only appear in forms with an email field.

B2B & B2C enrichment

Our email data enhancement works with two types of email addresses. When you have business emails (like name@company.com), we can add extra information about the company and professional contact details. For personal emails (like name@gmail.com), we can add demographic details and other relevant information. Keep in mind that we can't enhance every email address, and the success rate varies based on your audience and industry.

Privacy considerations

When you turn on this feature, we'll share email addresses with our partners in exchange for data enrichment. Since this involves sharing personal data, you need to tell your respondents about it and get their permission first. This is especially important to follow privacy laws like GDPR. You should review your local privacy rules to make sure you're following them correctly.

Enabling on a per-form basis

Data enrichment is not enabled by default. It has to be enabled on a per-form basis in the "After submit" section within the form settings.

Exporting enriched data

Profiles are associated with submissions, but they are not part of the same export. By exporting a submission (or in bulk), you will get only the data that was submitted. Any additional data that is part of a "Profile" can only be exported as a separate CSV. The same applies for data that is transmitted via webhook or to any of the existing third-party connections such as Google Sheets.
